A benchmark is a standard by which something can be measured or judged or a method of measurement utilizing specific standards in order to compare it with and improve one's own product.
Most private pediatric practices manage themselves in a proverbial vacuum, with no attention paid to benchmarking. Without benchmarks, what would success mean for your practice? How would you know if you are seeing enough patients? Are you coding properly? Is your collection rate on par?
Until now, those questions have been nearly impossible to answer, because what few practice management benchmarks existed had little pediatric relevence. It's PCC's goal to provide you with the most relevent, pediatric-specific benchmark data gathered in a single, accessible location.
